About A to Z Staffing
Your Partner in Staffing Solutions
We provide temporary, interim, and fractional staffing solutions to nonprofits and benefit corporations in the Pacific Northwest. A to Z Staffing is a woman-owned business and sister company to Nonprofit Professionals Now, which has been serving nonprofits since 2012.
What We Do
Temporary Staffing
If you need short-term support for a limited project or event, this option may be the best choice for you. We place reliable, enthusiastic nonprofit professionals in temporary positions throughout the Portland metro area and virtually anywhere in the US.
Interim Staffing
This is usually an interim executive director who will assess the organization, support and manage staff and board relations, maintain funder relationships, and transition a new executive director into the role.
Fractional/Embedded Staffing
These are long-term hires in director-level positions or above. Roles may include Director of Development, Program Director, Operations Director, or Executive Director. Great organizations that don’t have funding for a full-time role but need strategy, oversight, and training may consider having a fractional director. These roles invest in the organization by making the ask, designing the evaluation metric, and implementing tools.
How We Work
AtoZ Staffing hires and supports individuals with all levels of nonprofit experience. As our employees, we can meet with them, learn their skills, and help clients fill staffing needs quickly and efficiently.
Our team spans the experience range of entry-level to Executive Director and are available for a single project to a long-term commitment. How do you know what you need? The A to Z Team individually connects with each client to discuss the Scope of Work, timing, skills needed, working culture, and more. Then, jumping into our database of employees, we find individuals that can meet your needs.
Each hiring focuses on your Scope of Work and we provide the flexibility to hire long-term or complete the task at hand and move on. As our employees, the temporary staff receive employment support from A to Z Staffing giving you the ultimate flexibility.
Meet Our Team
Agnes Zach, Chief Executive Officer

Agnes has a wealth of expertise in operational and strategic leadership within nonprofit organizations and over 30 years of experience in governmental affairs and financial services.
For 12 years, she was Executive Director for Willamette Valley Development Officers (WVDO) where she created a number of programs focused on teaching the art and science of professional fundraising to help nonprofits thrive.
Under her leadership, WVDO started the Certificate in Nonprofit Fundraising in 2011 for 40 weeks of basic fundraising skills training, and in 2012, the Leadership Academy for advanced fundraisers who wanted to move into director-level roles. In 2017, they launched the Management Academy to help mid-level nonprofit managers grow their skills, and in 2019, the Grants Academy for hands-on grant writing tools and techniques.
In 2012, NPN formed as a WVDO program out of a growing number of program participants who wanted to know where they might find success and enjoy their work, alongside nonprofits who wanted to hire professionals dedicated to long-term growth within their organization. NPN served as the middle piece to make those partnerships happen.
In 2016, NPN became a wholly-owned corporation of WVDO, and Agnes served as leadership to both until 2020 when she began dedicating herself to NPN full-time.
Agnes is passionate about identifying what drives people in their professional roles, supporting them in their careers, and helping them find success and fulfillment in their work. Most of all, she’s driven by finding the right partnerships to help nonprofits achieve long-term success.
She holds a master’s in business administration from Willamette University Atkinson School of Management, Seth Godin’s altMBA, and a bachelor’s in business from Carroll College.
